Champagne Boizel
About Winery

Founded in 1834, Champagne Boizel has cultivated excellence since its origins by respecting the values of authenticity and commitment to the best quality. In 180 years of existence, this family house has forged its reputation on the subtlety of its blends and the finesse of its different Champagnes. Then as now, each generation pursues the adventure by combining respect of tradition with a capacity for innovation to continue to produce Champagnes that are constantly more refined and more appealing. The involvement of the family in all stages of production, from the vine to the glass, and the family’s deep roots in Epernay, in the heart of Champagne, are two major strengths for the House. This love for Champagne and the passionate pursuit of finesse, character and elegance in the wines are authentic family values.

Florent Roques-Boizel

Earlier this year, sixth generation family member Florent Roques-Boizel, age 38, took the helm at Epernay-based Champagne Boizel, succeeding his mother, Evelyne Roques-Boizel. As Chief Executive Officer of Champagne Boizel, Florent is joined by his brother Lionel, who is the Deputy Managing Director. Founded in 1834 by Auguste and Julie Boizel, the domain has remained in the hands of the Boizel family since its inception. In its 185-year history, Boizel has consistently grown with each generation. Today the house produces between four and five hundred thousand bottles of Champagne each year.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Reims and a master’s in management from Grenoble Ecole de Management, Boizel worked in wine export and sales in New Zealand and elsewhere in France. He returned home and
With 50 percent of Champagne Boizel’s output remaining in France, the domestic market is currently its most important. Its second largest market is Japan, followed by the United Kingdom, Italy and the United States. The USA still remains a relatively small market, responsible for only five percent of Boizel’s output. Florent Roques-Boizel has his eye on expansion in the United States primarily because it is the most important Champagne export market in the world. With that in mind, in his role as export manager Roques-Boizel entered into an agreement with Taub Family Selections for exclusive importation into the United States.
In addition to its entry-level Brut Reserve NV, Champagne Boizel also produces non-vintage rosé Champagne blended from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, and a 100 percent Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs. The Boizel portfolio also includes Ultime Brut NV, an extra dry Champagne that is aged on the lees in bottle for six years before release, and two expressions of vintage Champagne, “Grand Vintage” and “Joyau de France Brut.”
