About Winery

Domaine d’Ardhuy is located in the heart of Burgundy, France in the Côte de Nuits bordering the Côte de Beaune. It is nestled in the Clos des Langres, which has been synonymous with exceptional wine since the monks of the Abbaye de Cîteau planted the first vineyards in the 10th century.

The d’Ardhuy family has owned this estate for four generations perfecting the winemaking process.  The vines are treated with the utmost respect of the terrain and cultivated in a traditional manner.  The harvest is the final outcome from the work of the vineyard care. Through exceptional knowledge of the land and frequent maturity checks, they harvest each field at its optimum maturity. All fermentation takes place traditionally in oak barrels with regular stirring of the lees at the end of the fermentation process resulting in exceptional wines.

Owned by several daughters of the originators, Gabriel and Elaine d’Ardhuy, they were determined to convert the property to sustainable viticulture and winemaking and today the property is certified biodynamic and sulphur free. The vineyards are managed to protect the terroir of the soil and to this end, each vineyard is individually assessed to determine the required management practises.

All fruit is hand harvested, destemmed, no cold soaking nor enzymes added prior to fermentation.

Vincent Bottreau

Before joining the Domaine d’Ardhuy family, Vincent Bottreau was not destined for the wine-making world.
He was first an expert telecommunications engineer in large public and private R&D groups such as Philips, INRIA and Technicolor until 2009.
Vincent began his career in the world of wine with a first experience at the Domaine David Clark in Morey-Saint-Denis with missions of uprooting the vines by hand, stripping leaves, thinning and weeding.
He followed a CFPPA training in Beaune in 2011 and obtained the National Certificate of Winemarker at the University of Burgundy in 2013. He trained at Clos de Tart, at Cave de Lugny or even with Cécile Tremblay.
In 2014, Vincent became Winemaker for Bouchard Aîné & Fils with the objective of building and consolidating the identity of this typical Beaune’s Domaine, providing technical support to marketing and sales teams, ensuring qualitative responsibility for strategic wines, technical monitoring and supplier relationships.
He stayed there until the 2016 vintage, then he joined the Domaine d'Ardhuy as a stage manager and winemaker, with the mission of awakening Sleeping Beauty.
Vincent is now the co-manager of the Domaine d’Ardhuy, in which, helped by his teams, he oversees the production of new vintages
