About Winery

“INTIPALKA” means “VALLEY OF THE SUN” in Quechua, the language used by the ancient Inca Empire. The name refers to the valley of ICA, where our wines and piscosare produced, which has been known since the Inca times as a remarkable agricultural land because of its exceptional soil and weather conditions.

The ICA valley has a unique microclimate, which simulates the ideal climate of the best wine regions around the world making it the most promising wine producing region outside the normal climate zones tipicallyassociated with wine. The climate consists of ample amounts of sunlight during the day for sugar production and cold nights for acidity. This combination gives the grapes a balanced sugar and acidic content, ideal for winemaking.

ICA is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains 500 meters above sea level and more than 55 kmsfrom the coast. It has deep sandy soil that allows the grapevines to be “stressed” and produce grapes with high concentration of flavors and intense color. The soil in combination with a drip irrigation system gives the grapes used an extraordinary concentration of flavors.

The grapes are hand-harvested to select only the best. This is only an example of the level of care that is used in every step of every process to create a fine balance for a fine wine. It’s through passion and ambition that this incredible wine is brought to you
