Vedernikov Winery creates Krasnostop Zolotovsky, a wine that is unparalleled in the Rostov Region and across Russia. Born in the Don Valley, it has embraced all the power and energy of this land, which has remained the most important dot on the map of Russian winemaking for centuries.
Krasnostop Zolotovsky is aged for 18–24 months in French barrels of different degrees of burning. This technique enables winemakers to emphasize the unique taste of the autochthonous grape variety and create a resonating wine with great potential for aging, which will showcase its best qualities more and more vividly year after year.
- The robe is impenetrable ruby red. The nose is moderately intense, with significant complexity, with nuances of cherry jam, blackberries, prunes, smoke, licorice, vanilla, ink and light menthol tones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, tannic, rounded, has a full mouth feel, is moderately fresh, with notes of dried cherries, mulberries, tobacco, leather, rye bread crust and a slight smoky note. A very long aftertaste with jam tones of black currant and blackberry.
- This wine would pair beautifully with black pepper beef steak or grilled rack of lamb. Furthermore, due to its complexity and self-sufficiency, it can serve as a great accompaniment to aged cheeses to complete dinner.
