José Moro, Wine Producer, Bodegas Emilio Moro
Bodegas Emilio Moro, which was recently nominated as a finalist of European Winery of the year by the prestigious Wine Enthusiast magazine will be showing its latest range of wines at the Wine Discovery Weekend. The owner, José Moro, shares why the winery is more than just about wines.
We are constantly innovating. This is why we introduced Cepa 21, which is a wine that celebrates the Tinto Fino grape, aimed at consumers who have the expertise and open-mindedness to discover new tasting characteristics. The aim of this project was to build a modern, functional, minimalist new winery drawing on experience acquired in making a modern style of wines.
Viva La Spanish Wines. Less than 10% of the top wineries in the world are Spanish, but we offer such good value for money. It’s a journey we have to go through, but I firmly believe wine tourism will help to promote Spanish wines even more.
We also run the Emilio Moro Foundation. We realize that water is the main problem in the world , so we started developing projects in Sri Lanka , Nicaragua and Peru . We financed by sponsoring bottles for charity events to raise funds or part of the proceeds from sales of the bottles helps to finance the project. It’s hard work, but we will persevere.
