Rabia is an ecological, wood-aged red wine made by Bodegas Cerrón with the Petit Verdot variety in the D.O. Jumilla, in the Murcia region.

Bodega Cerrón is a family winery that was created with the aim of preserving the local wine history in the municipality of Fuente-Álamo, in Albacete. To do this, they are committed to recovering low-yield vineyards that have been half forgotten in transitional mountain areas with a shady microclimate. With a total of 26 hectares, they produce wines with a defined character that are full of fruitiness and wonderful acidity.

Rabia comes from a 2.2 hectare vineyard lying 900 metres above sea level. These vines are 30 years old, on average, planted in calcareous soils and cultivated with ecological certification. They use biodynamic practices and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, most of the Rabia grapes are destemmed and gently pressed with a 5-day cold maceration. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in open 500-litre barrels with cap plunges. Finally, the wine ages in French oak foudres for 16 months.

Named after the anger that winegrowers feel at rural depopulation, Rabia is a tribute to generations of work in the vineyard. A surprising Petit Verdot with a high fruit load and high acidit
