The special thing about this is that the vines are very old and date back to 1901. These vines form the basis of the Sélection Massale, which runs the Domaine de la Vougerai. Notes of wild berries mix with heart cherry, dried rose and black tea. Herbs such as dried laurel but also juniper then appear on the palate, as well as an earthy, spicy minerality reminiscent of wet leaves. A lively acidity balances the fruit, the body is medium-bodied with spicy, ripe tannins and the hearty character typical of this appellation.
