The Wine
Masses of juicy grapefruit dominates the nose whilst complex layers of lush guava notes even out towards ripe Galia melon on the palate. The scent of fresh vanilla binds this wine together whilst a refreshing lick of acidity adds harmonious balance, and the long length is truly mouthwatering.
Attracted by the exceptional quality of its soil, Dourthe Vineyards acquired Chateau La Garde, which is located on one of the finest gravel mounds of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in 1990. Motivated by an ambitious project and a great terroir, the huge investment of time and effort is rewarded today by producing more and more consistently a great wine of Pessac-Léognan that fine, elegant and charming.
