Wines from the Aloxe Corton appellation are among the most tannic wines in Burgundy, and are therefore perfect for ageing. If you are able to leave it aside for a few years, you will be absolutely thrilled with it. It is a highly complex Pinot Noir with aromas of black fruit, underwood and spices. A truly beautiful bottle for any fan of complex Burgundy reds.
This substantial domaine of 42 hectares situated on the Clos de Langre, takes fruit from at least 36 individual vineyards, five grand crus from the hill of Corton, one Clos de Vougeot and 15 premier crus. The balance is made up of many village wines.
Owned by several daughters of the originators, Gabriel and Elaine d’Ardhuy, they were determined to convert the property to sustainable viticulture and winemaking and today the property is certified biodynamic and sulphur free. The vineyards are managed to protect the terroir of the soil and to this end, each vineyard is individually assessed to determine the required management practises.
All fruit is hand harvested, destemmed, no cold soaking nor enzymes added prior to fermentation.
