Eau de Vie de Prunes de Mouton Rothschild is produced from several barrels of young wine from the estate’s vineyards which are double distilled in Alambic copper. The resultant intensely flavoured Eau-de-Vie is then aged in oak barrels for a period of 15 to 30 years. Six months before bottling, Eaux-de-Vie of different ages are blended together, with the average age of the bottled spirit being about twenty years. Presented in an individual wood box with the Chateau Mouton crest, each bottle is individually numbered, making this a unique gift idea for fine wine and rare spirits collectors alike.
Château Mouton Rothschild is a wine estate located in the village of Pauillac in the Médoc region, 50 km (30 mi) north-west of the city of Bordeaux, France. Originally known as Château Brane-Mouton, its red wine was renamed by Nathaniel de Rothschild in 1853 to Château Mouton Rothschild. In the 1920s it began the practice of bottling the harvest at the estate itself, rather than shipping the wine to merchants for bottling elsewhere
