Dry red wine with purple reflections; intense, enveloping, complex bouquet with a predominance of fruity and floral sensations along with a strong spicy component and notes of toastiness. Flavor is full, well-structured, persistent and harmonious, pleasantly fresh and tasty. Pairs well with charcuterie, boiled meat, stews, roasts, and ripe cheeses. Suitable for dishes of red meat, chicken liver or giblets cooked with herbs; also pairs surprisingly well with all varieties of fish cooked with tomatoes, fried in batter or baked. Albarossa’s fascinating character is captured best after aging.
Their history dates back to the beginning of the 1900s and grandfather Michele’s dream of planting a vineyard in the heart of the Bagnario Valley, Strevi, an area especially suitable to viticulture.
His son Giuseppe then began the Company’s evolution, gradually acquiring the best land of the Monferrato and choosing the most typical grape varieties to plant. After the war, he built his winery in the center of the village of Strevi, to be near the train station so that he could send his wines directly to his customers.
A man with deep roots, he was able to convey his passion to the entire family, and today his daughters , Michaela, with her husband Dr. Giovanni Costa, Patrizia, and Doretta carry on “the family dream ” with his same enthusiasm and dedication. They personally supervise and control every step of the production process, all the way from grape to glass.
Quality, not profit, is the Company’s priority and this determines all of their choices and decisions, made in the certainty that the excellent flavors of their corner of Piedmont will be discovered in their wines.
