This blend of Touriga Nacional and Castelão has produced an impressive wine that is packed with rich tannins and a dark brooding structure. Deep garnet colour with aromas of violets, wild berries and hints of spice. The palate is well structured and very elegant with vibrant natural acidity which results in a fresh and long aftertaste. It is still young, so drink from 2018.
The Anjo wines are a tribute to Quinta do Anjo that shelters the 53 hectares of vineyards that they have in their property. It is a tribute to their terroir that so well expresses what is pure to the region, as the indigenous Fernao Pires and Arinto grapes. Nevertheless, they also welcome French grapes such as the Chardonnay. It is a good example of the character and structure of their wines, supported by the freshness of the Atlantic sea breeze influence.
