The Wine
100% healthy Pinot Noir grapes were harvested by hand, slightly crushed and spontaneously fermented for 17 days in open vats. Several times during this period the pomace cake was carefully punched down by hand to extract the full range of colorings and flavors. Thereafter, the mash was gently pressed, matures for 17 months in new and used french oak and filled unfiltered in March 2015.

Deep ruby red with brilliant hues. Aromas of morello cherry, forest fruits, herbs, vanilla, dark chocolate and graphite. Concentrated, dense, complex and multifaceted. On the palate vigorous, mellow with an tremendously long flinty finish.

Markus Hüls belongs to a new generation of vintners which turn traditional ideas of the Mosel wine fundamentally upside down. The young winemaker puts his winery, stating in part from the parent winery, consistently successful and pioneering new course.

Modern management techniques in the vineyard work is just as important for him as a traditional wine maturation stylistic. Moldy Moselle romanticism you'll search in vain at Markus Hüls. Quite the contrary - with respect for nature, region and tradition the young winemaker incomparably creates his very own and modern style of Moselle wine. Fine fruity, mineralic wines made with an extra large dose of passion and enthusiasm.
