Jaume Gramona Martí (1961) belongs to the fifth generation of winemakers of the Gramona family. He studied at the School of Vine in Madrid, where he obtained the title of Technician in Viticulture and Enology. Later he moved to Dijon, where he obtained the Diplome National d’Oenologie. These titles were added over time the Master in Quality Control by the IQS, the Master of Aromas by the UPC, a stage in the CIVC Champagne, and a long etcetera.

The story of Celler Piñol mirrors the ascendance of Spanish wines in world markets over the past ten years. It is a story of how a reverence for old, treasured vineyards and the best family traditions have been combined with new winemaking methods to make the finest wines possible. The Piñol family has been vine growers for four generations. The switch to producing and selling their own wine occurred in 1945 when Josep Arrufi founded Celler Piñol.

in 1962 with founder Egidio Corradi’s dream of producing a noble wine that exalts the aromas and flavors of his native land while imparting the elegance he loved.

Born into an old Poliziana family in the Montepulciano region of the Siena countryside, he later graduated with a degree in economics and business. He spent most of his life working as an international broker in Genoa and Milan.

Located at 5km from the historical and monumental city of Ronda (Málaga, Andalusia), Cortijo Los Aguilares is an 800-hectare estate, with 30 dedicated to vine-growing.

The Terras Gauda winery was founded in the O Rosal Valley, within the territory encompassing the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin. The winery started with an initial production of 37,000 bottles from the 1990’s harvest. Currently we are commercializing more than 1.5 million bottles.

The 2019 awards expanded from last year, covering a total of 21 different wine categories and 10 spirits categories. This year’s awards also had a particular focus on small and independent wine retailers.

Cérvoles and Cara Nord all have high-elevation vineyards stretching across the hillsides of Montañas de Prades, a mountain range which is part of the Cordillera Prelitoral Catalana. This rugged area stands at a crossroad of various Catalan wine producing regions: Les Garriges in DO Costers del Segre, the southern part of DO Conca de Barberá and Montsant and Priorat further south.

The Umani Ronchi story is one of ancient vines, land and people. Seasons waxing and waning. Harvests changing. Wines coming into being. The story began more than half a century ago at Cupramontana, in the heart of Verdicchio Classico country, and has spread further. Today Umani Ronchi is the wine estate owned by the Bianchi-Bernetti family, who since 1959 have been making superb-quality craft wines, coaxing the best out of the Verdicchio and Montepulciano that find their finest expression in Marche and Abruzzo.

Since 2000, oenologist Victoria Benavides has been managing the winery. The winery takes its name from the previous owner of these prestigious vineyards, namely Señor Elias Mora.
