After receiving a degree in classics, Brad Ford was first a carpenter, grant writer and English instructor. In 2004, Brad Ford followed his dad into the vineyards at Illahe and worked his first harvest, and now, he's taken over the reins of head winemaker at the prestigious Oregon winery. His job? To make delicious wines that have a unique character.

A winery that releases only a single wine sounds unusual, but that’s the case for Clos de los Siete, the Argentina producer that does exactly that. The winery is the brainchild of Michel Rolland, who immediately fell in love with Argentina on his first visit in 1988. Michel Rolland will be interviewed by Debra Meiburg MW on Instagram Live (@closdelossiete) on 10 September (5pm), along with a tasting of the Clos de los Siete 2016 and 2017.

Think of a fine Italian biodynamic winery and the name Tenuta Musella often comes to mind. A stone’s throw from the city of Verona, this beautiful self-contained estate lies in the hills of San Martino Buon Albergo alongside forests, waterways, ancient country houses, all within a fenced-in natural park. We spoke to Maddalena about her favourite grape varietals, her biodynamic practices, and experimentation with new winemaking techniques!

Lovers of sweet wine will be no stranger to Weingut Tschida Angerhof, the Austrian winery that we previously highlighted when they were crowned Sweet Winemaker of the Year 2019 (for the 6th time!) at the International Wine Challenge in London. 

We recently caught up with Hans Tschida himself, who talks more about the uniqueness of his terroir and the Sämling 88 grape variety.

Fast forward to today, and we find his great-great-great grandchildren – the dynamic brother-sister team of Benoît and Mélanie Tarlant – running the show across 14 hectares spread through 4 different crus: Oeuilly, Boursault, St-Agnan and Celles-les-Condés, all in the Marne Valley. Benoît is the main viticulturist and winemaker, while the latter runs the business and marketing side of things.
