2020 is quickly coming to a finish, which means it's prime time to discover the year's harvest. Grape harvesting season typically takes place over 2 months each year, around August to October in the Northern Hemisphere and February to April for the Southern Hemisphere.

To be fully appreciated, some projects require a perspective that only comes with time. One such project is Spain's Cérvoles Celler, the first ever instance of mountain viticulture in Catalonia, and a beacon for quality Spanish single estate wines. he charismatic and talented Alvaro Palacios is one of nine children born to the owners of Rioja’s respected Palacios Remondo. He later studied enology in Bordeaux while working under Jean-Pierre Moueix at Chateau Pétrus, where he learnt about “the importance of great wines.” He could have returned to his family’s domaine, but he struck out on his own in the 1980s and found the largely abandoned, ancient vineyards of Priorat. Some 60 miles from Barcelona, Priorat was once one of Spain’s important pre-Phylloxera wine regions, and Alvaro believed it was time again to make incredible wines here.

Quinta do Vale Meão is a barrel-aged red wine made by F. Olazabal & Filhos with the native Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz varieties in the Douro region, DOC Douro.
