Harvesting Season In The Southern Hemisphere: What To Know

When you think of harvesting season, we often think of September through November - and yes, that is the case for countries in Italy, France, and the like. But as for wineries on the south side of the equator, their harvest is six months earlier in the months of March, April and May. Here, they harvest grapes planted in the previous year, and the vintage on their labels considers the year of harvest. That means winery workers in places like Australia, New Zealand, and others in South America are currently out in full force to secure the latest harvest before time runs out. We take a quick look at some of the wineries in our portfolio to see where they are in the process and some of the wines you can currently try that are at their peak.
